Liaqat qualified as a Chartered Certified Accountant in 2000.  Liaqat joined SWAT UK in May 2008 as a part of the Audit and Accounts technical team, having spent over 9 years in a medium size London based practice.

His role at Mercia involves conducting a variety of compliance reviews (including Audit, Money Laundering, ATOL and Probate), presenting on CPD level courses, as well as student workshops.

Away from work Liaqat is an ECB Stage 2 qualified cricket umpire and spends his time officiating games over the weekends in Essex.
